Frame and barrel are made as one piece with the round barrel being 3" long. Overall length is 7 ½". Bore is quite large, about .64 caliber. Scroll engraving is present on either side of the frame and is only very slightly worn. Brass has a somewhat tarnished appearance. Top of the barrel is stamped "EIBAR" in small letters. Action works well. One piece walnut grips appear to be original but their fit is somewhat poor due to the upper tang having been broken and rewelded.

Probably European. Overall length is 10" with a 4" round barrel. Steel frame houses a rotating breechblock which is activated by a lever located underneath the frame. When the lever is swiveled to the side, it exposes the chamber. The projectile can be loaded on the right side of this chamber and the left side has a pin for the attachment of some type of primer device. Top of the chamber is engraved with a monogram which I cannot decifer. The steel frame and barrel are mostly bluish gray in color and are smooth with no pitting. The bore is about .40 caliber. One piece bag shaped walnut grip has considerable figure and shows very little wear. The action is cocked by an unusual cocking device located on the right side of the frame. Cocking device resembles an owl with a tuft of feathers extending out the back of the head which serves as a thumbpiece.

Overall length 7 3/8". Round barrel with top flat 3 1/2" long and about .41 caliber. Barrel has about 50% of its shiny original brown finish present. Engraving on the patent style breechplug is extremely sharp and shows no wear. Engraving on the backaction lockplate and hammer is similar condition although the lockplate is a dull brownish gray color. Lock works well. Stock is of walnut and extends almost to the muzzle of the barrel. Stock retains about 90% original shiny varnish overall. A small chip of wood is missing on the bottom edge of the lockplate where the sear falls below the plate. Checkering is present in the grip area and shows only the lightest of wear. Stock is mounted with German silver furniture comprising the buttcap, triggerguard, barrel key inlays, nosecap, bolster inlay, shield inlay on the wrist and the sidelock screw washer. All of the furniture is finely engraved in typical Deringer fashion.

Fairly early manufacture but probably converted from flintlock. The barrel is 11 ½" long and has a deeply etched, very bold Damascus pattern present. The barrel is round with a forged rib extending from 3" ahead of the breech to within 3/4" of the muzzle. Silver blade front sight is mounted on this shallow rib about 1 ½" behind the muzzle. Decorative forging is also present just ahead of the breech of the barrel. The bore is approximately .60 caliber and smooth. The breechplug tang is stepped just behind the single mounting screw and is engraved with a numeral "2." The stock is of walnut and is very finely made and in excellent condition. Relief carving is present around the breechplug tang in a floral motif and around the forward finial of the triggerguard and around the ramrod entry thimble. In addition, a molding is carved along the ramrod channel. The ramrod has a horn tip which matches the nicely made horn nosecap on the stock. Each thimble is octagon with a very nicely engraved tang on the ramrod entry thimble. Two sidelock screws are surrounded by ornately, deeply engraved brass escutcheons. Deeply executed engraving is also present on the triggerguard bow and on the tined buttcap. Furniture fits well in the stock. The lockplate is also deeply engraved as is the hammer. Lockplate does not show evidence of having been converted from flintlock and is probably manufactured for this gun at the time of conversion. Lockplate has a deeply beveled edge and is 4 ½" long. Lock will not stand in the full cock position. Unmarked as to the maker.

Overall length of 10 3/4". The round barrel is 5 1/8" long and has a turned decorative ring approximately at it's mid point. The barrel is mostly brown in color. The barrel is engraved with a stand-of-arms motif with some gold inlay present. This engraving is moderately worn with some loss to the decorative gold inlay. The percussion lockplate measures 3 ½" long and appears to be a conversion from flintlock. Lockplate is smooth with a rounded profile and works well. Coloration is brown. The stock is mounted with iron furniture comprising the tined buttcap, triggerguard and sideplate. All metal parts are brown. Ramrod thimbles are present beneath the barrel but no ramrod is present. The short ramrod channel has molded edges. In addition, relief carving surrounds the forward finial of the triggerguard. A rose is carved into the stock at the rear of the breechplug tang. A decorative coat-of-arms inlay is present on top of the wrist and appears to be of pewter.

The Damascus octagonal barrel is 9 1/4" long and is inlaid in gold on top "LINDENSCHMIT Fes A' MAYENCE." The bore is approximately .48 caliber and is rifled with polygroove style rifling. The barrel is slightly swamped. A single thin gold band is inlaid at the muzzle and a thin gold band inlaid just ahead of the breech along with two platinum bands. The barrel has traces of simple Damascus pattern showing and coloration is mostly brownish gray. Very fine scroll engraving is present on the hook style breechplug and tang. A bead style front sight is dovetailed into the top of the barrel and a fixed notched rear sight is present on the breechplug tang. The numeral 1 is engraved just behind the rear sight. The tang is very delicately designed and long, about 5" in length. The back action lockplate which is completely surrounded by the wooden stock is lightly scroll engraved as is the percussion hammer. A platinum blow out plug is present on the bolster. The lockplate is engraved "LINDENSCHMIT/FRERES/A MAYENCE." Lock mechanism works perfectly. Coloration of the lock is dull gray while the hammer is light gray. Single set trigger is present. Stock is of walnut and extends halfway up the bottom edge of the barrel. No provision for ramrod is present. Stock is attached to the barrel by a single barrel key surrounded by oval silver escutcheons. The stock is checkered on the grip. Stock has been broken straight through the grip and repaired although the repair is evident. Plain steel buttcap is present. Steel triggerguard with finger rest is well made but is not engraved and is probably a replacement as it does not match the rest of the gun. It is quite possible that the buttcap is also not original as it lacks engraving also.

Side hammer style action with steel frame. English proof marks are present on the left side of the barrel and frame but no maker's mark is present. These guns were designed for indoor target practice. Very well made and distinctive. Overall length is 11 ½". The actual octagonal barrel is 3 1/4" long. The action of the pistol is housed within a metal sleeve which extends rearward from the barrel and has a square cross section with truncated corners. The overall length of the action with the barrel is 7". The top of the barrel is engraved "JOS:WINKLER." Top of the action is also engraved with a typical Germanic scroll. Coloration of the metal parts is dull gray and the engraving is fairly sharp. Barrel is mounted with a small blade front sight which is dovetailed into the barrel. The caliber is about .17. One piece walnut stock is checkered on the grip with very little wear to the checkering. Checkering has a fancy scalloped border. Rounded butt is very nicely relief carved with an oak leaf pattern. A small pick style implement is threaded into the bottom of the butt. A semi-sawhandle grip profile is present with a crude notch rear sight screwed on top of the grip. Fancy steel triggerguard with nice engraving present. The gun is cocked by pulling a spring loaded plunger rearward using protruding ears on either side of the plunger. Action is faulty in that the plunger will not stay in the cocked position. Loading is accomplished by rotating a small knob on the right side of the action which exposes the chamber on top and a percussion nipple on the bottom. Loading is accomplished by placing a lead ball into the chamber on the top and capping the nipple.
